#1 Wet plug fouling

Post by AnD3rew » Fri Mar 09, 2018 10:57 pm

Hi there, I am getting oily wet fouling on the 3rd cylinder from the front (technically not sure what cylinder number that is) I assume it’s probably either a head gasket or a valve guide.

Any advice on which it’s most likely to be or if there is another option I have missed?

Have you tried moving the plug to another cylinder to see if the problem moves with it, also you could do the same with the HT lead & cap to check first ?

Have replaced the plug several times. All new 123 distributor, new leads, new coil.

Can’t help with the problem but can help on your cylinder numbering!

That’s cylinder 4 They’re numbered from the bulkhead to the front of the car.

I’m sure a techie bod will be along in a minutewith ideas on the issue......
