Pleased with a simple solution tonight that I thought I would share.
Spent some quality time on the rubber/bumper tips based on photos and views above. All good. But was left with the central section rubber only just touching the body.
I understand that the S1 rubber is a lot sharper but a well fitted wider S2 rubber can look good if tight and flat against the body. Which mine wasn't!
So used a ratchet strap attached to IRS, up and over bumper and into boot. Attaching to one of the holes on the rear of the inner boot panel. A gentle tightening of the ratchet strap squeezes the bumper towards the body so you end up with the perfect gap.
Tighten up all six bolt points and a perfect fit of rubber strip to body.

You be the judge Simon. A key difference is that the real Mille-Miglia-winning Jenks was able to enter and exit a top up OTS sans leaving generous aliquots of scalp DNA on the cant rails...Simon P wrote: ↑Thu Apr 12, 2018 8:38 pmApologies - Denis Jenkinson, most famous perhaps* for looking not unlike Peter Crespin (I believe there's even a photo to that effect somewhere)
(*OK he's famous for rather more than that, but if Mr Crespin still has the photo I think it deserves another airing )

I was asked which was correct - cut-off or wrap around. This may help decide:
Very exact measurement from Jaguar!
