#1 Some type of straps hanging underneath

Post by elliottS » Sun Jul 08, 2018 8:50 pm

I've had my S2 for about 2 months. There are canvas straps hanging from under approximately in the seat area on both sides. What are they for? When underneath I don't see a reason for them but look original??? They are about 1 foot long.
Thanks

are they a tan color about 1 1/2" wide?

sounds to me like the canvas insulation/strap material originally used between the torsion bar shields and the frame has deteriorated and fallen out. you should see a metal shield with a 90* bend that is mounted next to the torsion bars , originally painted black. along the upper edge they used a material that looks canvas as an insulator.

but thats just my best guess as to what they are.
