Hi Bill

Had all mine chromed at Howell’s in Walsall, West Midlands last winter. Delighted with the quality of the work (including repairing a scraped overrider).

One of the good guys in the chroming world so be prepared for a wait. They will have quite a queue over the winter months.

Cheers

Bill - have used both Marque Restore and Castle - both did good work and would use both/either again.

Based on the receipts I found it seems my chrome parts were professionally polished as opposed to rechromed. Of course heavy pitting would exclude that option but mine look fantastic.
Sorry, I don’t know of any vendors in the UK.

+1 for Howell in Walsall. Superb work and worth the wait. You also get back the parts you give them, not somebody else's that don't fit properly.

Always busy though.

+1 for Marque Restore. they did a super job with all my chrome, including reshaping a badly dented spinner
so well that I can't tell which one it was without inspecting the back. Very busy but you can put your job on a waiting list and they call you when you get to the front. Helpful if you are doing a long restoration and can plan ahead.

Best re-chroming by far is done by Derby Plating in Derby. Many top restorers use them but the cost will make your eyes water.

You guys on the other side of the Pond are lucky. Less and less good chrome shops in the USA. EPA and the price of real estate doing a big number on old shops. If anybody knows of a reputable shop in this country, I would be much oblige . Thanks !

Here in Norway as well. There is so many hse rules to follow that there is close to none left and the cost is enormous.
To do the window frames, quarter frames, rear window trim, rear lights and some minor pieces cost £4000

+1 for Marque Restore. I just collected 4 re-chromed spinners and a de-chromed and polished aluminium M/C primary cover. Spinners look like new as does the cover.
Very shiny, very happy!
