Thanks Peter....may well adopt that on another project...looked into the 133/134 teeth a while ago...yes the original starter works on both....the tooth pitch is the same but the auto flex has one extra tooth so its diameter is larger so the starter center to flywheel center just needs looking at.....Steve

I only have the Rover set up, ie Rover gearbox and Rover bell housing etc

Most of an LT77 is metric, but the primary pinion nose is 1/2", and in Rovers runs in a sintered bronze bush in the crank. If you can solve the bellhousing issue (one that will mate an Lt77 to an XK engine) best option would be a R380 box out od a TVR etc - same layout as LT77, but stronger (theory is 380 is capacity in Nm). The landrover version have different lengths of primary shaft and output shaft. I have posted some dimensions elsewhere here.
