Thanks Bob - I could have chopped it up a little before I sent it, to make it a closer match! Really glad the colours look good. I look forward to adding to mine just as soon as she returns from the major re-build.

Another satisfied customer. I fitted it slightly inboard of most others as the bulkhead was smooothest there.
Thanks, Richard.
Thanks, Richard.

You're correct - it's pretty close, but still many differences in the spacing and font. Mine are a photographic copy of the original item carefully edited to ensure a good end result once printed and lacquered.
I have no problem with the commercial ones, but I just wanted something as close to original as I could produce to replace the 50 year old one I've lost during my re-build and re-spray.

#33 Re: Brake fluid bulkhead decal
I’m wondering whether Richard’s fabulous decal copy, though applicable for at least 1969 E-Types (judging from Richard’s and Bob F’s photos (above) of their originals), is “correct” for all S2s, including for example my later 1970 S2 OTS LHD.
My owner’s manual (E. 154/5) does recommend Castrol/Girling Crimson brake fluid, as is shown on Richard’s label. But the manual also states that this (or alternative) fluids must meet “S.A.E. J1703A” specifications, which is different from what’s on Richard’s label. Interestingly, both Terry’s and Martin Robey show a different looking label that they say is applicable for 1970/S2 cars (see photo) and that does state the manual’s “S.A.E. J1703A” requirements – although this decal also contradicts the manual in saying that the recommended Castrol/Girling brake fluid is “Green” (not Crimson).
Any clarifications on the above would be appreciated. Ideally, it’d be great if someone had a photo of an original 1970 S2 OTS LHD label to cut to the chase on this. Thanks in advance.
