#1 Expansion tank bracket dirctly against bulkhead?

Post by Pex » Sun Feb 16, 2020 5:29 pm

I've blasted and painted the windshield bottle bracket and expansion tank bracket and they are ready to go back on the car.

What thread size are used for mounting them, I'm used to metric so I cant say more than its UNF.
And are they mounted directly against the bulkhead with no washer/shims, can't find any picture of this.

IIRC they are 10/32 UNF and are spaced away from the bulkhead using spacers approx. 1/2 inch long.

Perfect, thank you... exactly what I needed.
But now I see that I'm missing more parts :scratchheadyellow: I only have the L shaped back part and the bottle.
Only seen complete brackets so I probably have to buy such since I also need the strap.

Is there any name or product code for the distances so I know what to search for, or do I I have to manufacture them? Also,if someone know where to buy a separate strap or/and the the horizontal bracket , please let me know since I haven't been able to find any dealer inside EU.

The strap can be easily made up using Pirelli webbing, which can be bought cheaply on ebay. Cut to required length and re-make the riveted assembly.

What if any function do these spacers perform? I forgot to reinstall them on my ongoing restoration and everything fits and functions...
Thanks
