Before I finally install these, is this the way they fit?
Thanks in advance
Having posted this, I have found a pic on the internet that seems to suggest that I have this seal upside down? I'm sure somebody will confirm that?

Hi Andy
I replaced both of mine a couple of months back - put them the other way round to your photo. Was a bit fiddly getting it into the grooved piece, but seems to seal OK now. I think you would see the rubber over the glass if you put them in like the photo.

Thanks for your replies. Geoff, you're right, my photo has the seal upside down.
My next problem is that the rear end of the quarterlight very slightly fouls the seal retainer. Specifically, the attachment block that is screwed to the rear edge of the QL fouls the seal retainer. Only by a tiny amount, but enough to be irritating. I'm hoping that clearing the hinge pillar attachment screw holes will be sufficient to allow the pillar to move forward very slightly to alleviate the fouling.
And I find I'm short of the spacers that sit under the hinge arm attachment point. I think they are fitted to stop the arm fouling the crash roll?

Andy, the fitment of BD27268 and shims can affect the closing. Mine had one fitted the wrong way. Like many of these things lots of fettling to get a satisfactory fit.

Hi Geoff
I've found out why the LH quarter light is fouling at the rear end. I've realised that it has had a repair carried out, and it is this repair that fouls. The repair has 2 tapped holes and is secured to the upstand with 2 small screws. The pics show the LH & RH QL's. But I think I have a solution. I think I can move the repair piece to the other side of the frame upstand. But when I do that, of course the screws don't line up and I don't initially want to be enlarging holes if I can avoid it. But I can secure the repair piece with some 2.4mm rivets which I'm going try initially and see how I get on. Sort of thinking they won't be man enough though.

Yeah second that! Had so many bodges on mine to fix as well.
Rather than put the repair piece on the inside, can you not file/grind enough off the outer surface till it clears the frame. Think it'll show if you move it inside and the holes won't line up anyway cos of the curve
