These covers are available from some of the usuals.....I assume to cover the metal bracket as shown above..i have read that there was never a Jaguar part number for these...anyway a good cover to hide up a home made bracket...or a laser printed one.......Steve

Hi Steve,
I’ve looked for this cover on the usuals but can’t find it
Could you advise any part number or supplier

Thanks

Bit more information on the S2 ignition switch bracket . I am making a dozen of them and hope to have some done by Christmas . The bracket will fit all columns with the steering lock casting . Be aware that these columns are RHD or LHD and the bracket is also handed but only at the switch mounting as I have already mentioned on here. The best way to convert a LHD car to RHD is to convert the upper column to RHD configuration and that means following the procedure put up on here by another member which is in the Tech data section. The right bracket can then be aquired and fit the column you have and on the side you want.
The bracket will not fit the S1.5 column which does not have the steering lock casting - although they look similar this locates to the column by a different method , a photo has already been put up on this thread by another. I do not have a pattern for that one and cannot help you with that.
If these dozen find owners then I will try and arrange something with Richard Smith who has the power to up gear production - if needed. It may be a dozen is all that is required .

From some offline email between Barrie and I, its been determined that I have a Series 1.5 ignition switch. He sent me pics of the of Series 1.5 and 2 ignition switches and their attachment on the steering column and I absolutely have the Series 1.5.

I'm not speaking for him, but I think he is fabricating the bracket alone and not the tubular mounting piece that is used on the Series 1.5. I just happen to have an extra top piece, here is a photo of it -

Hopefully, we can find a way to get both sections fabricated so that there is an alternative for Series 1.5 (or in my case an early Series 2) owner.

The S1.5 column top Bob shows above can be fabricated and I will incorporate them as Bob wishes when I receive the pattern . I will be able to offer the S1.5 bracket in RHD form - something AFAIK was not available from Jaguar as the S1.5 collapsible column was Federal only I believe . Cars which have had the aircon removed could also use this bracket - moving the ignition switch from the aircon panel to the column.

S2 switch brackets will soon be available - going to powder coat in January . There are 8 of these in this short run. The s1.5 items are not yet ready but soon. No price yet but should be around £50 I would think. When they are ready I will list them in the for sale column. The bracket in the photo is a S2 LHD item.

You may want to send a Private Message to @tinworm directly. I received the first one of these ignition brackets that he made and I can tell you that the quality is outstanding and it was a relief after months of searching worldwide to find this item. He is a great and talented guy.
