#1 Vacuum advance pipe

Post by mach2andy » Wed Apr 05, 2023 9:04 am

Having discovered that there was a crack in this copper tube where it joins the soldered nipple at the carburettor end, I've managed to drop the nipple which I was about to resolder to the tube. An extensive search has failed to locate this nipple, so Ideally I'm looking for a replacement. So, does anyone on here know what size this nipple is? I'm sure they are readily available possibly from model engineering shops. I know that the complete tube assembly is readily available, but I would prefer to repair if poss.
Thanks in advance

Hi Jack
I decided to bite the bullet and order a replacement tube assembly from MR. I was amazed at the difference in price between the leading suppliers.

Thanks for your input.

Hi again Andy,
did you give D. Manners a try, I use them quite a lot. Please give us a brief idea of the various suppliers and their prices on your pipe for future ref. cheers John.

I sourced my replacement from Martin Robey who, suffice to say, were considerably cheaper than the other major suppliers.
