#1 Stromberg Tuning - Fuel Bowl Plug

Post by DHillman » Thu Aug 24, 2023 5:46 pm

Hi, my car has the emission version of the Stromberg carb that supposedly cannot be adjusted beyond the idle trim screw, fast idle screw and throttle trim screw.
That having been said, it will only start when the fuel bowl plug is opened 1/4 turn or more.
Does anyone know what the initial setting should be for the fuel bowl plug?

Why do you think this was spam?

Stromberg carburettors came in two varieties. The first had adjustment from the top using a special tool in place of the the dashpot damper and with a fixed jet pressed in above the fuel bowl plug. The second type had a fixed needle but with adjustment from below, by altering the jet height. Mistakenly calling that a "fuel bowl plug" doesn't make it spam.

kind regards
Marek

Hi Marek

The post I was referring to has been deleted by Steve. I guess he could have deleted mine too.
