#1 Window wipers

Post by aerodynamic18 » Sun Aug 27, 2023 4:50 pm

Hi guys. Can anyone recommend what window wipers they use on a s2 fhc please. The ones on it are done and tbh were never very good anyway so after a recommendation?

Jamie, have you tried SNG Barratt? They have uprated wiper arms for a firmer hold against the windscreen and their blades are as good or bad any out there. Rain-X is a must, keep the windscreen well cleaned with it and you’ll barely need the wipers. See also the upgrade section for intermittent wipers as this is well worth doing.

I see they have cheaper one and then ones at 25 each. Just wondering if there were worth doing or are the arms the key to it? Windscreen is clean its more for the rainshowers which seem to be around alot this summer in NI!

They all make a difference, it isn’t worth scrimping to save a few pennies or pounds. Your car is worth far more than a saving of a few pounds can be of relevance.

Yea i get that but i am just curious if they make much more of a difference as they are pretty much useless lol. I will order the better wiper blades. Have you fitted the updated wiper arms? Much of a difference??

Buy the cheap one..then when you find out its not that good replace it with the uprated one........uprated items are typically a better product....Steve

I fitted the uprated arms to my car after I found that the originals just waved the wiper blades somewhere in front of the screen - rubbish wiping.

The uprated arms made all the difference and wipe the screen effectively.

Got it in one. The design is bad and nothing you stick onto it will improve it.

My approach is to not drive in rain.

Not all all. I distinctly recall that as recently as 1976 we actually had quite a nice summer......
