Oh well Jeff, a few of us (just determined to be awkward of course) actually prefer not having the gorgeous upper flanks of the car scarred by those pimple-like excrescences thrown on the Series 1, that are like lights, but dimmer. :drinkingcheers:

BTW Jeff I did realise you were comparing your mods to the standard S2, not S2 vs S1, but that is the general theme on this topic. You've put a lot of work in there, beyond my capabilities, but I'm chilled about the S2, all I've done is change the lenses a la Elan with reversing lights incorporated, kept the original units as I try to keep any mod reversible. Even then I only removed the original reversing lights because add-on lights are a particular pet hate of mine, on any car, Aston Martin or whatever and it was easy to do; if not they would have stayed on. I wouldn't have bought the S2 in the first place if the rear end of the car actually offended me, it wasn't as if I could only get a S2. Ditto the headlights.

Don't worry - Jeff's had a hang-up about the S2 rear end (and anyone who cares to leaves it untouched) for years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have to admit
Those wheels are Butt ugly
Really? Each to their own, but I love the look of the wire wheels on old sports cars. (Including my own) Interestingly, at shows, large numbers of the public comment on "look at those lovely wheels"

And the second row of the peanut gallery checks in in unison. Did you guys mothers not have any manners? Doesn't look like she taught you any. You know, like if you can't say anything nice about somebody personally? I understand the frustration of you having to live with the ugly ass of your series 2, just because it is stock and that is the way it came , so that is the way it has to be. You know, stiff upper lip and all that shit. Go ahead and stand in perfect rows, while I protect myself behind a rock or tree and pick you off one by one. How did that work out for you?

I second what Steve has said. This seems to have kicked off because someone (Joes66) did not like the Mini-Lite wheels on Jeff's car and he (probably rightly) took umbrage and fired off a sharp reply (probably wrongly) to a wholly innocent Malcolm.

So - Joes66 opinionated post has been deleted and Jeff should offer an apology to Malcolm and we can all move on. This sort of behaviour is not what this Forum is noted for! :police:

Actually no
If you had read the posts above mine I was commenting on another post which mentioned the wheels
Quite innocently actually
So don't shoot the messenger please
Was not meant to be a nasty comment
And was not posted as one

Indeed - don't blame Joe, he was simply repeating my original post.

I can live with Jeff referring to my rear end as butt ugly - he's been doing so since 2016, and it didn't get to me then and it's not getting to me now. I am also happy to withdraw my like-for-like remark about his unique wheels.
