#1 Indicator/horn switch
Hi All,
does anyone know where I might find part number C28489 indicator/horn switch for a series 2 2+2. I have tried SNG and DMG but no luck and not expecting it in stock soon.
Failing that does anyone repair them? A wire has come out of the stalk which looks very difficult to refit!

Bernie, which colour wire? Indicator or horn?
I recently worked on a broken indicator/horn switch and was able to repair it (though not back on the car yet). The very end button on the horn part of the stalk can be levered out, then you can unscrew the horn push. Now that may, or may not, give you access to what you need to fix.
The switch is a fiddly item to take to bits and re-assemble and easy to lose bits so be careful. Also removing the switch from the column is not a simple exercise. Be careful of items like the collets on the steering column going walk-abouts. But if you plan to work on the switch then you'll need it on the bench.
Mark up all wires, where they go etc.
I hope that might help, if not let me have more details and I can look at my switch to try and help further.

I have the same problem and Barratts went from predicting 16th Nov to mid February. They are at the mercy of their suppliers, and have a long waiting list. Annoying that the new S3 Landrover switches with horn and flash functions are £12.50 on eBay, compared to £150 for the S2 item.
To get an MOT I have bought a indicator/flasher switch for a Jaguar Mk2, Daimler V8 or 420, and put a temporary horn button on the dash.
Might get you out of a hole, if like me, getting it on the road soon is the objective.

The only people in the galaxy actually making them (or commissioning them) are SNGB. I think they have ongoing quality issues which are delaying them from releasing a batch which is of merchantable quality.
Last year I begged them to let me buy a sub-standard pre-production sample when that looked like the only way I was going to get an MOT!
