#1 Front Shock measurements please?

Post by jagwit » Tue Jan 10, 2017 5:35 pm

I need two measurements relating to a standard front shock mount (bottom end) please:

1)I Need the width (not diameter) of the metal loop that accommodates the rubber bushes as per the picture;
2) Those rubber bushes inside that metal loop slide over a metal tube (which itself slides over a long bolt) which has a small diameter portion and a large diameter portion. I want to know the LENGTH of the SMALL DIAMETER portion please.

TIA!

Hi Jagwit

Don't know if you have got an answer elsewhere.
Tis part of the car is not yet fit back on mine. The measures I've are as follow:
1)35.25mm
2)12.25mm
Hope this will help you.
Cheers Michel

Thank you Michel, your input is highly appreciated!!

The measurement of 12.25mm width for the ring of the shock is very interesting. That is really a surprisingly narrow ring for the lower shock mount.

Are you confident that the items you measured are original or as original and applies to the Series 3?

:thankyouyellow: also!
I was close to fit the new shock absorbers without because the documentation does not show clearly this part!
Or it depends of the doc you use...
