#1 Sheared otter switch bolt

Hi
While replacing the otter switch I've sheared one of the bolts off in the threads of the housing. I've ordered a new housing but can't source any new bolts. Barrett's and Manners' both say they are unavailable.
Does anyone know what size/thread they are or know where I could get hold of 3 new ones?
Also I've tried to attach a photo but the file is too large, how do I get over this problem
Thanks
Simon

I'm not sure about the SIII, but on the earlier cars they are #10 NC (i.e. 10-24) Should be fairly easy to source those.

Common problem; they weld themselves in there. #10 or 3/16" UNC (NOT UNF). You might satruggle to find hex headed bolts but if you can't you could just use Phillips.

Hi
Thanks for the info. Now have fitted a new housing, otter switch and bolts.
Run up to temperature and the fans came on and no leaks

Looking good. I too sheared one of those bolts and as mentioned drilled it and got in a stainless self tapper.
It's also nice to have a switch with light to activate the fan relay and thus switch them on manually in traffic.

Just for the sake of mentioning it, if the sheared fastener is ferrous, and the part isn't, you can dissolve the fastener.

Hi Guys
If you are looking to upgrade to more modern/reliable componentry, check this link to Coolcat out. I fitted one to my V12 several years ago; replacement senders are a modern readily available part from Porsche.
