#1 How to remove the board behind backseats?

Post by disaster123 » Sun Jul 23, 2017 9:29 am

Hello,

while cleaning the whole car and removing all parts from the backseats i detected that i've rust under the board behind the backseats. The one which is connected to the wooden board in the trunk.

Thanks!

Greets,
Stefan

Hi Stefan....not sure on the S3 but on my S2 2+2 remove the board over the spare wheel and the one next to it over the petrol tank....then you should see self tapping screws holding the panel down...remove these and see if you can lift the panel out.. Steve
Edit....if you look in the knowledge base section, there is a S3 parts catalogue.....look in the body section...there are drawings showing what i described above.....there is lots of S3 info there, including a full maintenance manual.....do you have your own maint manual....Steve

Hi Steve,

thanks for your answer. I'll have a look in the knowledge base section - thanks for that.

Currently i can lift the panel from the trunk site - about 1-2cm. But it still holds on the site of the seats and i've now idea how it is fixed on that site. I don't want to pull it out and use raw violance.

The photo is not my car ;-) but it looks nearly the same. OK i'll try to pull it right out to the direction of the trunk. Thanks a lot!
