#1 Rubber clutch pipe weeping through surface

I have a Series 3 OTS converted from LHD to RHD earlier this year. I have noticed the rubber pipe from the clutch master cylinder is weeping through the surface with beads of fluid all over the pipe. Loops porous? The pipe has writing on it "suitable for unleaded" so looks like fuel pipe has been used.

Then I taste the liquid it is DOT 4, not water.

So the question is has the wrong pipe been used or is this something else?

Thanks in anticipation.

I think this is definitely an unsuitable pipe. Many instances previously reported.

The stuff you need is Cohline but be sure to get the spec for brake fluid resistance.
I’m sure others will chip in with the correct detail.
