Dear forum friends,
replacing a front park light bulb I found that my car is equipped with sealed beam headlights (one has the number 2 on top of the glass, the other one not).
It is an original german LHD, not a re imported car.
I thought sealed beam was not legal in Germany.
Perhaps someone can give me advice whether I should replace them with H4 bulb type headlights.
If so, are original headlights available somewhere?
I could only find repro parts but I would like to get Lucas parts.
Thank you for help
Sven

Sven, my own E-type has H4 bulbs and reflectors and I recently fitted new H4 bulb/reflectors (ex SNG) to the S3 I rebuilt for a friend. Both car's headlights are powered directly from the alternator via relays (to avoid all that current passing through the dash switch and to have max voltage applied to the lights). Both cars have excellent white and bright lights.
So, yes, I can highly recommend doing so.
