The oil pump for a 4 speed all synchromesh Jag G/Box, without an OD, is driven by the Inner Race of the rear bearing (by friction)
Thx Bill. Do you know, does this mean that, if I were to fit a new mainshaft and O/D unit to my existing KF gearbox, I would then have no gearbox oil pump?
Or does the Compact Type A O/D unit also pump the gearbox oil?

Hello Colin,
Yes, the same oil in the gearbox is circulated in the OD unit by the OD pump.

Bill
