Engine weight and engine stands

I'm just about to lift the engine from my S3 to replace a number of leaky gaskets and seals. I have a few questions regarding use of an engine stand.

What is the weight of the V12 engine without transmission?

What are the thread sizes of the holes on the side of the block (I've seen these engines mounted at 90° to the axis of the engine stand)?

Will the engine stand on a flat surface without crushing/distorting the sump?

I've had my engine out and in twice, but never on a stand. I believe the total weight of the engine and automatic transmission is in the neighborhood of 750Lbs. So guessing the engine on its ow is in the 500 range.
Both times I've had the engine sitting on a 1000Lbs dolly with a routered cutout for the sump drain plug. It's presented no issues at all. If you don't make some kind of cutout for the drain plug area, I'd suggest to arrange peaces of wood under the sump to get the weight off that area.
Sorry, but I don't know the sizes of the engine mount bolts.

The V12 engine on its own is a good deal heavier than 500 lbs. The 6 cylinder engines weigh about that, and from memory the V12 is 142 lbs heavier than the 6 cylinder XK, so the engine with no ancillaries probably weighs about 650 lbs. It should stand , easily, on its sump without damage provided you lower it gently and avoid weight on the sump plug
