Post by jagwit » Mon May 28, 2018 12:51 pm

Does anyone know where I could get mud flaps for a Series 3?
Best Regards

I have often looked for some sort of small flap that would not detract from the look of the E, but would protect the bottom panels from getting chipped from junk thrown up by the tires. Best think is to find an auto store that has a selection, see how they look, see what fits. Actually a very good idea. Hope you find something. Once considered a small piece of lexan.....might do the job, and would not look too bad.

A had generic mudflaps on my car for years and they worked fine - unfortunately with a black car and black tyres they do not stand out in pics of my car.

They just screws to the inner wheel arches with self taper screws. They were the standard rubber style similar to these.

They followed the curve of the wheel arch pretty well both front and rear, work well, looked OK and are cheap.

My EFI'ed OTS had a nice set of mud flaps:

I don't understand why proper mudflaps appear to be unobtainium. Just drive through the tiniest of puddles and the entire car is messed up all along the car, front to rear bumper!!

I ended up putting a clear self healing protection film on those areas underside. Most dirt will now rinse off, although that doesn't prevent the splatters being there in the first place, but does give the protection against stone chips etc.
