#1 Dunlop,or Avon

Post by Neil Duke » Sat Feb 08, 2020 7:12 am

Thought I posted this yesterday, seems to have gone missing.
My S3 Roadster has got really old Pirelli tyres,I am going to put a new set on,E70VR15,in either Dunlop SP,or Avon CR28 Sport, neither are cheap, but the SP looks right.Has anybody got experience of either of these?

The Dunlop SP's are original fitment and I have used no others in my nearly 50 years of ownership, the last set being fitted four years ago, so I can't compare to other makes.
Have a look at 'Longstone classic tyres'.
I believe they have a short video that compares the tyre makes for the E-Type.

Cheers

I replaced my Avon tyres with Michelin. Delighted.

Could you please give the tyre code for these Michelin's.
What I do know is that in the UK each Dunlop tyre is £285 unfitted!!
Also the V rating limits choice. H opens things up but I am offered tyres that are suitable for 4x4's!!

Hello Paul,
just saw you have the D-Type Wheels on your car, what size are they and which spinner do you choose.
Looking forward to your response.

Kindly regards
