#1 Main jet loction in Stromberg carbs

Post by jagwit » Thu Aug 27, 2020 7:31 pm

I measured the depth of the main jets in my very well sorted car's ZS carbs to be 2.66mm from the bridge level to the deeper surface of the main jet surrounding the hole into which the needle goes.

A friend working on a car that is idling pig rich found those jets to be at 2.7mm - much the same as mine.

A dead set of carbs I have, have the jets at 2.09mm.

I am keen to hear what the general view is on what the depth should be, and if it varies.
Best Regards
Philip

Jet level comparison between cars is only valid if you are running the same needle and have the float levels identically set. So you might want to verify the other two variables on each car to provide proper context.
