C7493 Gearbox spacer
#1 C7493 Gearbox spacer
Hi Everyone,
Well finally starting to put my series 3 together.
The gearbox mounting spacers have gone for a walk, I don't seem to be able to get them from the usual sources.
I would be grateful if anyone has the dimensions so that I can replace them with a standard part.
An odd ask I know, but all help much appreciated
Mark

Hi Steve
Thanks that helps
Given that the bolts are 5/16 UNF , does 9/16 thick , ID 5/16 and OD 1/2 seem right. Or should the OD be larger?
Best
Mark

Hi Steve,
9/16 wide, 7/8 OD and 1/2 ID looks more like it.
Thanks again

The original posting referenced in post #2 by Steve was mine.
I made two errors (I fat-fingered a couple of numbers while using the numeric keypad on my laptop).
Here is my correction that I posted about 6 entries below my original:
QUOTE
The average thickness of the 5 spacers = 0.2818 (between 9/19" and 19/32")
The average thickness of the 5 oval washers = 0.100" (abt 3/32")
The average thickness of the 5 lock washers = 0.0836" (abt 3/32")
Sorry for the double error; the above is my original posting
What is posted as “5 spacers = 0.2818” should be “0.5818” (fat-fingered the 2-5 on the number key pad)
What is posted as (between 9/19" and 19/32") should be (between 9/16" and 19/32") (fat-fingered the 6-9 on the number key pad)
Sorry for the confusion

I still have yet to install my transmission so these spacers are still on my shelf.
Let me know if you want any dimensions - new ones or additional corrections/clarifications to old dimensions

In your initial post, you said:

I managed to lose one of the spacers but used SNGB for the missing one. It was on backorder when i ordered it but came through about three weeks later. The benefit in an SNGB one is that it will be plated. I doubt a workshop would go that far.
Just checked SNGB website and they are still "Backorder" but try it
