#1 Hood stowage cover fixtures

Post by coalboy » Fri Mar 25, 2016 10:38 am

How does the hood stowage cover on the S3 ots attach to the rear metal work. The one which came with the car has press studs but I have none on the rear deck of the car. The parts catalogue also shows nothing. At a bit of a loss.

Photos would help if possible

Where the trailing edge of the mohair/canvas hood attaches to the back of the car, it is done so using screws pressed through snap-fit connectors. These are neatly hidden normally because the trailing flap of the canvas top along the back of the bodywork naturally folds over the studs.

To fit the little hood cover, you fold the trailing edge of the top forward to reveal the press studs along the trailing edge. These are supplemented at each side by an additional stud attached to the velcro.

kind regards
Marek

Thanks for that. Seems to be missing the stud near the Velcro. Will look later under the rear trailing end so it is part of the hood?

Had a more detailed look and no press studs the Velcro is held on with very small screws so assume one press stud goes at the bottom are the others rivetted or screwed in ? If screwed do they go where the panhard screws are as well?

Cheers Nigel
