I worked on the windscreen last week : rubber around the glass , a thin string in the groove , two "suction grip handles" , putting the rubber in the bottom location and then turning around the corners starting along the bulkhead to finish in the middle of the top :
Image

Image

Image
Insert the middle rubber string,
Image

After the challenge is to fit the upper chrom , i have to bend it slowly...... very slowly ..... and it fits .... ImageImage
Image
Another challenge is to stick the lateral chroms at the right place but i have to do the job with the lower chrom which is more difficult to adjust .
Image
Image
Image
when it is bended, the upper edge can't be fitted Under the rubber lip .
I don't know how to do the two curvatures , when i bend in one direction it opens the upper edge and when i begin to curve the upper edge, it opens the first curve.....
If somebady has the solution, my ears are completely opened :)

Hello Yves
Not sure if this will solve the issue, and maybe you have already looked through the excellent restoration story from Chris....

viewtopic.php?t=1752&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=300

Have a look at page 31..perhaps there might be some help there..?

the most difficult in the process is to have the right curve with the chromes blades

Iwas worry about refitting the chrome bead , but with calm and a protected pliers, i am quite glad about the result

Image
At the end ... i have "only" to fix them Inside ....

By the way i have also fitted a new coolcat fan

I continue fitting the cantrails with again problems to match the position of the cantrail and the door aperture
Image
But with time , the result seems +- correct:

After the cantrails, i continue with the cross member and the central console

Trimming the sills and the Under Windows parts:
Image
Glue side by side , to fix the position, of the foam and after the vinyl
Image

Sometimes a little seringue is helpfull for close location of the edge of the sill vinyl
Image
Modification of the shape of the cardboard to match with the sill. I slide a thick piece of plastic to avoid scratching the vinyl
Image

Image

there are some wrinckles which will be modified later..... :?

:thankyouyellow: Emmanuel, i'll continue effectively with the gearbox after trimming the doors. But i spent last WE at LE MANS CLASSIC and i saw some E there and i saw that they were quite lower than mine for about 2 inches at the front suspension... :scratchheadyellow: so i have to change the torsion bar settings , which is a big job for me

If you have not driven your car yet, there is no need to adjust the torsion bars at the moment . The car will settle noticeably lower in the first 200 - 300 kms of driving

Oh yes, I do not regard 2" as much. Quite apart from the bushes settling ( and in that connection they should not be tightened up fully until the car has run a mile or two ) the front wheels take some distance to assume their proper track, which affects the ride height considerably . I should wait and see what it's like after some running on the road - and in any event, too high is infinitely preferable to too low !

Effectively i used the setting bar preconized in the service manual, but i have fitted the TB 2 cm lower than the bar after reading a post( i don't remember which one) which said it was better to do that..... the mistake comes here ! .
