#1 4.2 Radio Console fixings

Post by baldyz1 » Mon Apr 16, 2018 10:59 am

Hi,

My series 1 1966 2+2 was an auto but we have changed the complete tunnel to manual and I have a new radio console from Robey. With no reference to the fixings from my car I need some help please.

There seems to be a mix of fittings including a domed nut (cam cover nut) a knurled nut and a chrome (top frame bolt). I cannot find a conclusive picture even in the Factory Fit that shows me where all these go.

Please can somebody help me with where the various fixings go and how many I need to order;

Parts seem to be;

BD19302: Bolt
BD21072: Knurled nut

Barratts list a strange nut BD26892 and describe it as a dome nut but I think they mean the CAM Cover nut and have made a mistake I have no idea where they go and whether they show. Perhaps Barratts list this new type of nut as it is hidden and a waste of a good chrome cam cover nut?

All help gratefully appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

Chris

The assembly is fixed to the bulkhead with 4 fixings, 2 chromed knurled knobs at the bottom and 2 chromed domed bolts at the top. I think they are the ones you describe.
I am not aware of a cam cover nut being used.
Unless the 2+2 is different there is a picture in Factory Fit for the 4.2 OTS car in OSB.

Hope that helps (a bit)

The cam cover dome nut is part C2327. The dome nut they are referring to is the ones holding the speaker grills in place. It is not a chromed nut: https://www.sngbarratt.com/uk/#!/Englis ... 585a2df591

That is brilliant help; at least now I don't have to order the wrong numbers of everything.

many thanks
