#1 Greensand Color
I have a 74 Etype that is Greensand color, that i plan to repaint. I have attached a picture of what a greensand looks like (not my car). Original color of my car is greensand, but i find it is very polarizing....one either loves it or hates it. No inbetween. The car is a very good original car with 42k miles and runs exceptionally well. Would love to hear your views on two questions: Does changing the color effect the value of the car? If the color has to be changed the engine has to be pulled out of the car. Is that a risk?

Greensand = Baby Poop Yellow
I had a XJC V12 in that colour and was not a fan at all.

Heck Garry. One of my S3s is Greensand and I'm trying to convince myself that I like it so I don't have to do a colour change. A colour change to me is all the under dash panels, inner sills etc.Greensand = Baby Poop Yellow

Looks good on a Series 3 Landrover but not on an Etype. However if that is its original colour then i would stick with it.

Why not keeping it?
The E SIII is a child of the 70‘s and in that age colours which seem to be strange today were normal.
I would be happy to have such a rare color.

The sample photo looked a bit too yellow. This was my Rex Harrison Greensand OTS in Switzerland with a loose exhaust. It grew on me and it's nice having the only car that color at most small gatherings. After a year or so it grew on me and it looks very dreary now in some common metallic reddish hue.
But really, there are as many answers to subjective questions as there are people prepared to be asked.

Very cool colour indeed.
The strong period colours are the best, especially on the V12s.
Fashion is fickle.
These colours were as popular in 1974 as gunmetal is in 2018!
In the 80s, everyone painted their e types red. Times change, stick with the original as it suits the car.
Or looking it another way, theses period colours are as unpopular now as gunmetal will be in 10 years from now!
Azure, Fern, Heather, Sable, Turquoise. They are all reasons why the V12 car is so different and special.
These days, everyone seems to want grey or black. Expressing their individuality by copying eveyone else!
Apologies for my grey car by the way! Thats the way it came out of the factory.

Hello
Thank you all for sharing your views. Peter my car color today is more like the color of the car you posted. I saw other postings of greensand color cars, and thought my color was incorrect and the yellow/mustard was the right greensand color!. I Am in the process of getting the car repainted, and then i hear a lot of friends and others telling me if you are going to spend so much money pointing it change the color because i will have a hard time selling this car later if i decide to sell it. Just hearing the comments on this forum, gives me faith to keep the current color...the greensand....do not change it to the yellow or any other color. Thank you all again for such an honest feedback which helped me see the light!!! Sandy
