#1 2+2 rear seat

Post by brynburdett » Sun Jun 05, 2016 11:04 am

Hi, can anyone remind me how the rear seat on a '71 2+2 moves forward please? In the past I'm sure I just pulled the thing forward but while the n/s seems to want to move the o/s seems firmly stuck.

Daft question I know but it's got me beaten

Thanks

David

Up and forward - backrest only, not seat cushion. Some late (US only?) models had a fixed rear seat. Easily spotted by type of fixture.

Resurrecting this topic to ask if anyone's knows whether the rear seating differed between the series (other than the aforementioned late S3 fixed back US cars)???
I'm missing the rear seats on my 1966 S1 project
car so need to source a replacement that will fit!

Can't really answer, but the rear seats on my 1969 series 2 2+2 were up and forward, so sound the same as the S3. I'm sure I've seen S1s that were the same.

Try looking up the part numbers to see if they match...unfortunatly in the knowledge base there is the parts list for S2 2+2 but dont see anything for S1.....give SNG a call and ask if they could look up the parts for you.....or call one of the trimmers to see it there is any difference in tne covers they make...Steve

I have an original parts book for the series 1 2+2. This lists the swing hinge assemblies as part numbers bd28574 & bd 28575.

This seems to differ on the series 3 looking at the knowledge base, so where that leaves series 2 I have no idea !
On looking at the SNG site they don't seem to list these parts, which may not mean they don't have it.

Not so useful I'm afraid

Just resurrecting this thread as I think my rear seat hinges for my 2+2 series 1966 are lost.

Looking at SNG they list a replacement for Series 3 but nothing for series 1 or 2.

Does anyone know if the seat top half remained the same in terms of structure and hence the hinges would have the same dimensions?

Thanks
