Most S2 E-type owners will know the electrical scheme

Does anyone know what is the meaning of the encircled numbers 2 , 3 and 5 in the wiring towards the “Head lamps main beam” , “Head lamps dipped beam” and “Side lamps” . Are these physical connections in a junction box , terminals of relay , … ?
Since a number of days , both main beams and dip beams stopped working , as did the left hand side light (the right hand lamp still operates !)
All this despite measuring 12V reading at the fuses 1, 2 and 3 , and tail lights and number plate light working properly !
I’m quite puzzled
Anybody any ideas?

I suspect the numbers you refer to are the pin numbers of the eight pin plug/socket that connects the engine loom to the bonnet loom in the left hand side of the bonnet....

I suggest you've lost the earth (-ve, ground) for those items in the bonnet. They are earthed to the bonnet by a stud behind the N/S headlight by the connector block for the wires coming in from the 8 pin socket.
Checking and cleaning up that stud and earth continuity is the first thing I'd do.

Thanks , to all of you !
I managed to get the Lh side light working ( a bad light bulb , as simple as that …)
And I opened the 8-way plug : all connections of the wires to the female pins are in good condition , but still no 12V reading on pin 2 or 3 when switching on the lights , despite full 12V at the fuses 1, 2
As the flashers and the side lights are properly functioning , I suppose the problem is not with the (common) earthing (but what then ?)

check the switch for the lights, high beam and the bullet connectors for blue-yellow and blue-white cables in that area. you will eventually find where the 12v is getting stuck.

Problem solved ! Or not ...? .
I did quite some checks with my multimeter , and didn't detected anomalies
As this involved quite some connecting /disconnecting , at a sudden moment I had again all things working
Not being aware of just what made the change , I started fiddling to all connections , but with no further result , meaning the lights just kept working ! I can only assume that some connection (around the fuses ) was not that well ....
So , very happy with the result , but not so sure about the longevity
But again thanks to all of you for your assistance : I learned quite a bit from it

Electrical issues are usually down to bad connections or faulty loads/switches etc or errors. The wires themselves rarely fail unless badly installed.....no grommets, too close to hot parts etc
