Julian - if you have bought parts then you have the experience we are looking for so please feel free to join us. This goes for any member here - it is not exclusively about a full restoration, the experience of buying parts and fitting them is enough and you have a positive contribution to make.

I'd be happy to attend but happy to pass the batten to better folk should numbers approach the limit of what is sensible. I shall email my mate Mike and see if a bed for a night and curry can be arranged I have used SNGB, Dave Manners, BAS and several who attend Stoneleigh. By and large the parts have been fine The very few instances where things could be better the suppliers have been most helpful in sorting things out in my experience anyway. The 30th is in the diary but happy to drop out if needed. Julian

I would be happy to be involved. I am 75% of the way through restoring my S1 roadster and have bought about £10k's worth of parts off SNGB. Mostly good news and good service.
I live in Tewkesbury and happy to do the drive, although I will be under Healey power as the Jag will not be finished by then.
Let me know if I can assist. It would be good to meet some of the regulars on this forum too!
Regards
Steve

What a wonderful idea.
I describe myself as a 'competent amateur' - I am confident in what I know and tackle and what I leave to experts.
This winter whilst the engine is away for a rebuild I have taken the car back to the bulkhead and am restoring everything from there forward. SNGB always my chosen supplier and have purchased a bedroom full of parts this year. Especially delighted with their service. Occasional disappointment with parts but overall a very satisfied customer.
So would love to be involved but, like others, happy to defer to more qualified representatives. Would be a good excuse to get back to the Midlands to see my family (Edinburgh based).
Cheers
Ash

A number of years ago I spent a reasonably large amount with SNG Barratt following the purchase of my car, including parts required for a full engine rebuild. The service and products I received were, on the whole, very good to acceptable and I have continued to purchase from them on an “as required” basis. A happy customer.
Before becoming a Jag owner I was for many years into Triumphs, especially Triumph Stags, but including TR5 and TR8, so I have experience of other suppliers as well - though in my early days of Stag ownership SNG Barratt were parts suppliers to that market too!
I’ll happily join the throng at the meeting if you think my contribution could be relevant, but like others, I’ll gladly defer to any who can contribute more.

I see some very tech-savvy people are involved here, which makes me think that it must be possible to run the boardroom-type sessions as a broadcast webinar or a full participatory meeting for people from, say Australia or France or even Maryland... That’s assuming all exports of electrons and satellite signals have not collapsed during Brexit.

Like the Millenium bug , Peter ? In any case, it's all irrelevant as we are reliably informed by Mr Donald Runt that we shall all be burning in the fires of hell by then ! If you think the USA has an eccentric trying to run the show .....PeterCrespin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 4:52 pmThat’s assuming all exports of electrons and satellite signals have not collapsed during Brexit.

Yes Chris, there is a curious symmetry between our respective situations. Oft times in these last two years I have found myself in correspondence with UK friends or relatives when we are facing near-simultaneous civic crises of one sort or another, usually hyped up for the sake of ratings, but with enough substance to convince one that there are some venal vainglorious idiots at the helm of our governments.
Even Phil the Greek is losing the plot and seemingly shortly to be confined to oiling the Purdeys and hosing out the mud and cow pats from some unregistered SWB Sandringham Landie. Poor Brenda must feel like locking May and Corbyn in the Tower and telling them not to bother her until they’ve worked out how to run a whelk stall.

Grovelling apologies Steve McBerkow. I thought it was a private email because there was a flashing signal when I logged on. Makes me think Chris probably thought so too?
