#1 Brake control assembly - washer question

Post by ysmalkie » Sat Jun 08, 2019 2:13 pm

I am trying to assemble the shaft and pin assembly(9) to the connecting lever(11) with the operating arm (17).

Image

The parts list lists 2 washers FW205T (5/16th" washers)

Would any of you know where they go? On the upper or lower pin?

Also, There seems to be an imbalance between the 2 pins - on one side there is the nylon bush, on the other there is nothing. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

Hi Tadek
Just had to find my pre and post photos of this part
1. There was definitely no washer between the two parts on the non nylon bush end. ..see photo... when I disassembled it
2. Second photo shows it after cleaning, plating and reconstruction
Hope this helps

Hi
Just checked
1. I believe the two washers are for the lower link (see my photo below)
2. There is definitely NO washer between the upper linkage despite the nylon bush lip on the Lower link means it’s not quite flat

Robbie,

Many thanks! I think it looks actually exactly the same as on my set.
