I bought my series 2 OTS last year and am loving it. It's exceeded my expectations.
Nice riding, quite soft, nice feedback to the steering.
Although numbers matching- I bought the car knowing its not totally original: The bonnet is from around a 67 (series 1.5) with the smaller grill opening and indicators over the front bumper (even though the rears are still under bumper).
Secondly- the colour is a 1980s Jaguar Cranberry (a burgundy metallic colour).
I was thinking I want to make it more original in some ways, but I prefer the look of the earlier bonnet. I sent off for the JDHT cert.
I found out the colour was originally willow green. I don't think I'll be taking it back to the original colour.
I could pick a period original colour- but it's a lot of money and effort. I am liking the dark red hue of cranberry metallic now.
I guess I'll continue tailoring the car to my specific needs....triple SUs, may be changing to interior toggle switches , covered 'series 1' style headlights …..

Hello Rex
As an American, when/where did you get the certificate and what is the name of the issuer as shown on the paper?

Hi Peter,
The hard copy of the certificate is yet to come but I got a pdf copy from this email address
jdhtarch@jaguarlandrover.com
and this was a the bottom of the email:
'Collections Centre, British Motor Museum, Banbury Road, Gaydon CV35 0BJ
Tel: +44 (0) 1926646385
e-mail: archive@jaguarheritge.com
Jaguar Heritage Trust is the operating name of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
Registered in England No. 1709907 and registered charity No. 286863
Registered office: Abbey Road, Whitley, Coventry CV3 4LF. '
When I worked for Jaguar my email address had '@jaguarlandrover.com in it (and @ford for a long time too) - it also has the Whitley address of where I once worked too.
This was the www address I believe

Thanks. You’re a US resident though, right? Did you try the Mahwah HQ facility? Not sure if they still do certificates and believe UK ones were due to be far dearer?

Mahwah/Mike Cook were always a bit chesper than UK but I believe they have lost the ability to issue certificates in USA / CAN / MEX at the same time as the UK has raised prices.
