Hi Marek

I have your original led reversing lights. Are you able to swap out those for the new ones, or do you need to replace the whole unit?

The new boards are a press fit into the clear Lotus bit of the rear lenses.

Since yours date from May 2016, I'm guessing you'd have to use a scalpel (or Dremel) to cut a hole in the back of the lenses to be able to remove the old LED board. Alternatively, delicately inserting a scalpel between the clear housing and the main body may pry the clear part free.

Later units are a simple swap over as they are unsealed.

kind regards
Marek

Are the LEDs "E" marked, like bulbs have to be? I have had a ticking off from the authorities for the reversing lights on the MOT test

The MGB square lights used by Jaguar will have had markings on them. The clear inserts that make a standard s2 or s3 rear light into a "Lotus" light never had any markings on them. All I have done is change the festoon bulb for a brighter array of LEDs, neither of which ever had markings.

The markings on the s2 or s3 main orange/red rear housings are exactly as before.

kind regards
Marek

Here's a couple of pics of Marek's LED reverse lights in action. White for reverse, red for brakes. Very cool!

If you're looking for comments on atheistics, it's got to be about the super wide Series 2 rubber bumper to body seal. Far from worrying if the number plate is straight, change that rubber strip for the Series 1 narrow one today.
