#1 XKE S1 Heater/choke cable routing pics needed

Post by Jagdiver » Tue Jul 30, 2019 12:13 am

Hello again

1967 Jaguar XKE E-Type OTS roadster
Does anyone have a couple of pictures with showing the routing of the 2 heater control cables from the dash levers through the firewall to to the water bypass valve and to the heater box.

Where exactly do they come through the fire wall? and where do the go into the firewall from the levers?
Same thing with the choke cable.
I have new cables from SNGB they appear to be a little long do I cut them down or keep the excwss behind the firewall

Thank you

Alan,
Don't know if your sorted re the cable routing but I have a few photos of a left hand drive 61 OTS that may help you here...

Heater valve and heater flap cable through the bulkhead from the engine side...

dash side by heater control levers...

and, from the dash side looking through to the back of the engine bulkhead...

You will need to put the cables through the rubber grommets sold separately, and trim the cables to length ONCE you have fettled them and adjusted them correctly. (measure twice - cut once).

Hope that is a guide for you and obviously if RH drive then vice circa on the routing.

Choke cable routing is obviously the opposite of the heater cable routing through the bulkhead but the most direct route.
