#1 Noisy after-market fuel pump
The after-market fuel pump fitted to my 2+2 is extremely noisy. Any idea's on a quieter, reliable replacement pump, that maybe doesn't have to work continuously, would be most welcome.

The SU pump is very quiet and only ticks occasionally. You can hear it when the ignition is on/engine off but not when the engine is running. My guess is you have the Facet aircraft pump which is beloved by many US owners but can cause problems because of its high pressure and noise:

What David said. The Facet pumps are reliable and pleasingly cheap. I had one in my MGA that I could hear with the car at freeway speed.
You could try wrapping a towel or some other form of sound deadening around it.

If you use the Facet you will need a fuel regulator as the pump outputs 4.5 psi - the SU's only need half that and it runs continuously. People agonise over fitting LED instrument bulbs to reduce demand on the battery yet seem happy to have this hornet screaming away all the time!

Facet cube style pumps are available in at least 5 different ranges of pressure outputs, starting at 1-2 psi, and ending at 9-11.5, the former which would be suitable for an E-type.
Not That I'd use one there, having fitted an electronic SU type from Burlen.
I do run Facets on my Lotus Elans, on isolation mounts and in the boot, but still a little noisy. Dead reliable though. My oldest Facet has been in continuous use since 1993! (as with any fuel pump, decent filtration on the inlet side aids life)
