Ahh. Well I reckon from all I have read here I will have to remove the spacers but I am going to leave all that until I have the front end on and the car fitted up. Thanks for all the input and advice and of course my terminology was incorrect reference tension. Ah a slip of the brain when typing. I did set the camber on advice from an e type specialist who advised me it would be very close if I fitted a certain number of shims to start with. Can't recall how many.

The original shim packs you removed would be a good starting point, but you will probably have to adjust them anyway. So not that important.

Can't speak for Andrew but the only practical solution we have found is to reuse your original springs.

Just seen the question. So when I first fitted the rear springs I was supplied SNG springs with the aluminium spacers as per early 3.8s . This put the whole rear way too high. I subsequently was told that CMC Bridgnorth produce their own springs because the SNG version leaves the car too high. I fitted these and would say that the rear looks pretty good. It looks perfect with a full tank of fuel though. I think its ok, see photo. Hope this helps. Goodwood last friday

Thanks Pete. I drew the sort straw being parked next to the gravel and dusty track but it didn't get to dusty somehow. Hope you enjoyed Goodwood.

Indeed I did. My third Revival and how perfect was the weather! Looking forward to another one soon. My E being Golden Sand never looks dusty - it’s a very practical colour. My dark blue XKR on the other hand...

CMC stands for Classic Motor Cars right ? with the CMC's springs you used the SNG aluminium spacers or CMC provide suitable spacers ? Sorry for the questions of newbie but before restoration the car looked good with the old dampers + springs and I stupidely threw away these stuff ...

Yes Classic Motor Cars Bridgnorth. I ended up not using the spacers . I am sure somewhere in the archive there is plenty of discussion on spacers or not, but you will need to search a bit unless one of the moderators can point you to it.

Hi Pierre.....There has been so much discussion on the forum on rear hide hight....If your haveing problems then the forum can possibly help....we would need to know what car model you have...and give actual detsils of what your ride height is....measure from the lowest point of the IRS tie plate to ground.....could also be worth starting a new post....Steve
