I installed the headlight kit on my SWB S3 a couple years ago. (Walshien???) It is expensive, but very good quality and very good instructions. It assembles without any cutting of existing sheet metal. It takes time and patience, but I am happy with the final result. It really doesn't look like an original E type headlight assembly, but in my case it fits the car.

Hi
Take a look at the kit produced by poster Marek
He is uk based, might be relevant after brexit
I have seen the kit and it is high quality, it has one major advantage over the one referenced above in that marek supplies new diagphram plates, at the back of the bowl, so no cutting is required.
Stephan’s kit leaves the bowl protruding out the back of the diafram plate, which must be cut, leaving the wires exposed.
They are both high quality, I have Stephan’s kit, but in hindsight I like the clean no cutting look of Marek’s.
Cheers
Mark

Hello Russ,
I have the Headlight kit from Stefan Wahl and I am very satisfied with it
The big advantage for me was that Stefan offers the assembly and did it on my car
greetings

SWB- Short Wheel Base
I do not want to get off track with the thread, but my car started out as a derelict, but straight S3 coupe(California car). I chopped off the top and shortened the car 8 inches. Rebuilt engine, 5 speed box. New Martin Robey (S1 and S2) sheet metal to form the roadster boot. Reinforced ladder frame inside the monocoque for added stiffness. Similar concept to the Eagle Speedster, but with a 5.3.
Also, regarding the Wahl kit. For some reason, the headlight buckets on my car had the original hole for the pigtail wiring welded shut, and a new hole was drilled further forward, which allowed the wiring to exit in front of the headlight panel and thus is "hidden". And yes, I know I need to give it a cleaning this winter.
