I am trying to diagnose my friend's problems with his BW8 gearbox. I am not a fan of automatics, and I have a feeling it works differently than the more modern units.
I understand L means "Lockup" not "Low", but how does it function?
I presume D1 allows to drive in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and is a equivalent of a modern "D" position?
I understand D2 allows you to drive in 2nd and 3rd gear - what would you use it for??
However I do not understand what's the L function:
- can I select it from D1 or D2?
- does it always downshift from 3rd gear to 2nd?
- does it always downshift to 1st when I am in 2nd gear?
The manual uses 3 throttle positions:
- Minimum
- Full
- Kickdown
What's the difference between "full" and "kickdown"?
And what is the meaning of "accelerator at the detent"??
Being Polish, I should polish up my English...
Mant thanks for help..
