Dear all
I’m looking to fit a standard mild steel exhaust to my March ‘62 OTS project for originality, sound etc to go with the lovely whine on pulling away in first!
SNG Barratt only list complete stainless steel on their website
Jaguar classic don’t specify and say out of stock
Anybody got any ideas for getting hold of one

I bought mine from P D Gough (Nottingham) : https://www.pdgough.com/
They have original period patterns from which they can make a copy. Turnaround is only a few days although paying in cash seems to hurry things along! Bear in mind the resonators will be mild steel and will need plating. I used Nottingham Platers as they were on the route home. https://www.chrome-platers.com/
I have their mild steel system on my FHC and it sounds fantastic.

I managed to find Jag classics prices etc
They “aluminise” the majority of the system as some rust protection and the rear box and tails are chromed..around £1200 ish incl VAT
Not sure how that compares to your chaps?

I paid £600 cash about six years ago plus the cost of chroming the resonators ~£250. Price could have changed by now though. Worth giving them a call to find out latest or go for the Jaguar Classic.

I bought the Jaguar Classics mild steel system - see post below for around £600:

It was made of "aluminised" mild steel. The "aluminised" is a coat of aluminium paint. One of the downpipes came painted black so I rejected it. The response came back that they were that way originally so workers on the assembly line knew which was the front and which was the rear downpipes so I stripped the black paint off and replaced it with heat resistant silver paint. I should have done the rest of the system as the "aluminising" as done by Jagaur's supplier is very poor but certainly meet their claim of being as original
The downpipe I painted myself has fared much better.
Looking at Jaguar Classics website today it looks as though the mild steel system has been replaced with a system made of stainless steel and the price doubled at the same time. That fits with SNG's response to you as they used to supply the Jaguar Classics mild steel system - as they are authorised Jaguar Classics suppliers.

I just love this, and kudos to Jaguar Classic.
Reminds me of the manual F-Type. You don't make it 'cos it won't sell, but punters pester you so you relent. Then no bugger buys it and you lose money and vow to resist next time. Until the next time...

I purchased a centre box plus intermediate pipes from classic jaguar. The fitment of the centre box wasn’t great and needed some “adjustment” to get a good fit. The fixings where it bolts to the hangers were too widely spaced and had to be closed up.
Even now I’m not completely comfortable with it.
Compared to the fit of the e type fabs system on my previous car which was spot on perfect.
I may remove it all and fit from ecosse motorsports.

i viewed the jaguar classic system at the NEC and thought it was very poor quality the very polite salesperson informed me they were made in Manchester by TMA who are a big supplier to the car and commercial market.
What you get is probably quite near what was originally on the car so you get what you pay for.

I bought the Jag Classic system for my restoration a couple of years back on the strength of their assertion that it was made to the original drawings (and because it was mild steel). It was well enough made but it didn't fit too well...the mounting bracket on the twin silencer section didn't line up with the holes in the chassis rails (possibly Robey's holes were in the wrong place but I didn't have the patience at that point to launch am investigation). And the angle of the kick-up at the back is a touch too obtuse so the tail pipes sit slightly low. But it sounds much better than the tinny, tinkly sound of the stainless system that was on the car when I bought it.
