Absolutely brilliant :yellow:

I’ve really never wanted/needed a fan override switch or a hazard switch or even an intermittent wiper switch.........but I soooooo want that switch panel

Thanks Simon! Do I detect symptoms of that rare condition known as "switch envy"?

Brilliant series of posts Jeremy. A very enjoyable read and a lovely little project.

I have missed your posts.

I think you are ready for your next full restoration. Clearly too much time on your hands.

Thanks Ash! Perhaps you noticed in one photo the supersized print of the wiring diagram that you very kindly sent me...it has been invaluable and is now appropriately amended.

Super project Jeremy, a lovely read. Reading between the lines I would say it’s time for for you to consider another project!

I’m moving forward slowly with mine and defiantly overdue to provide the forum with an update. I will sort out my phots and create some new content. Car is now 95% striped so I will be unwrapping my new welder and starting to tackle some rust repairs once I’ve figured out mounting the shell to my rotisserie.

Best wishes

Jeremy, as promised here’s a few pics of my installation.
Started with an original Lucas 5 switch panel, shaped to suit the S1dash lines and bolstered it up at the rear with some thin ply before covering in vinyl and adding switches. I used Lucas HRW switches and matching warning lamps as well as Retronics Wiper Delay and Hazard Warning Modules (highly recommended btw.) The delay chrome guitar knob was from Ebay and I ordered a narrow one and a wide one to compare. The wider one the preferred option.

Thank you for your advice reference the switch surround labels and a big thank you to Graham at GB Classics who supplied the material and posted out all FOC. A true gentleman :drinkingcheers: and a first rate company to deal with. :thankyouyellow:

Steve, that is very neat. Are you going into a production run?
It is always nice to see such a good installation that looks as if it were an original fit.

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for your kinds words, I was after that ‘original’ look and glad that it works.
I’ve enjoyed putting it together but sourcing the correct looking parts hasn’t exactly been time or cost effective. The chrome push/pull screw on knobs, for example, were sourced separately due to wanting the shorter reach switches with threaded shaft. Most of these switches tend to come with bakerlite push on knobs, buyer beware. I also got some original Lucas 2pole switches like Jeremy’s installation, in case I had a change of mind part way through.

Congratulations Steve! Top notch job! You certainly nailed the escutcheon lettering challenge....it's always good to discover that one is not alone....

The Retronics wiper unit is clearly superior and I would definitely have used it had I discovered it. And your pull switches look totally correct. Really cool.

Thanks Jeremy, a nice little project all in all and controls all within easy reach. Next is the headlamp relay upgrade, that’ll complete the final ‘mod’ for me.
