I've placed some Cool it insulation material in the body from my S3.
To go ahead on the soundproofing, I would like to do is to get the same kind of product that the one used by Jaguar. I know there are kits such this one:
ebay.co.uk/itm/202720396823
I dont want the kit but the raw material to do the job by myself. I cant find it. I do find similar foam but without a hard surface as the original one.
Does someone know where to buy this kind of stuff ?
Original soundproofing material

Do you mean foam or felt?
I'm not sure if the Series 3 uses different materials than the earlier Series, but have you looked at Woolies
https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/category/126/felt
Or Martrim https://www.martrim.co.uk/
(search for felt)

#3 Re: Original soundproofing material
Hi,
series 3 uses a foam material. There is a disadvantage with the original foam material: the foam consists of open cells, i.e. acting as a sponge when it becomes wet.
A few weeks ago I was also faced with the decision to use the original foam material (as a kit) or to deviate from the original and use a closed cell foam. I decided for the latter in order to prevent wetlands with subsequent corrosion. The acoustic effect may be worse here, but a dry floor is more important to me.
Best regards
Holger

I used Armaflex (www.armacell) closed cell foam sheets. This material is used for insulation in industry. 3 mm foam for door sills, 9 mm foam for replacement of original soundproofing sheets. I bought the material as 1 m wide plates from Amazon.
