I am interested in switching to a wet gauge. Any recommendations on a source for a good period correct gauge.

JUST fitted one, from SNG Barratt. Works brilliantly, I now know the real oil pressures. And it's still a "Smiths" clock, so matches the other guages perfectly. Only difference is that my original guage read to 60psi, this reads to 100.

If you speak to caerbont who make the gauge that most of the usuals sell they can supply a wet gauge that reads to 60 psi and looks identical to the original electric item.
It’s not advertised on their web page.

I’ve not fitted one of these myself, but I think I read on this forum that the capillary tube will need to be coiled to a certain degree behind the dash. If you go for the steel braided option for the tube, there could be a risk of shorting if it touches any exposed connections. Might be safer to go for non-metal braided option if available.

It's still an electric gauge, did you think it was a mechanical gauge?

#12 Re: electric or wet oil pressure gauge
I'm ok with my mechanical guage reading to 100 rather than 60, because my oil pressure goes above 60 anyway, particularly when cold, so it's nice to know what it is getting to before the relief valve cuts in. I've kept the old electrical guage reading to 60 in case I ever sell and a purist wants originality
