Safe Storage
#1 Safe Storage
Can any of you remember where I put my windscreen wiper arms?
I have bent them to fit RHD, carefully polished them, fitted new rubbers and wrapped them in bubble wrap. I then stored them in a safe place for fitting later.

When you find them, can you check to see if my rear brake calliper bolts are are with them? I clearly remember bagging them up, labelling them, and putting them away..........somewhere

Love it! I'm forever putting things somewhere safe, then losing them. I normally blame the wife by saying, "where did you put....." upon which she strenuously denies any involvement.
When I subsequently find it in one of my drawers, I have to either:
1) Just don't tell her I've found it
2)Put it in one of her drawers and pretend to suddenly find it there
3)Confess and take the shame

Well if you do find it please let me know! Amongst many other things, the safe place fairies are looking after a hard to source ammeter for my Norton resto as well as the period ‘Fan’ toggle switch tag for my fan override switch. I’ve now had to buy a new one that says ‘Ejector Seat’ in case I ever find the other!
(I’m secretly quite happy about that though!)

We all have gremlins visit our garages. It is a fact of life. They thrive on the torment they cause when they move a spanner from its shadow on the tool board to a drawer for pliers. Don’t feed them by being tidy. Leave tools where you last used them, that upsets the gremlins. Then they will give up residence and move to another garage occupied by someone who has proper OCD.

Or says it shouldn't be on the kitchen table, on the breakfast bar, in the dishwasher, in the oven or indeed in the house at all in the first place!
Having convinced me I have only myself to blame irrespective of who moved it and that I have upset her, it invariably then costs me way more than the value of the aforementioned part just to say sorry.
After 28 years I've finally learnt not to even suggest she might have moved something!
And yes, I have normally filed it away somewhere thinking that the back left hand corner of my toolbox is the perfect place for a clutch fork pin rather than the vast array of labelled shelves, labelled parts drawers and labelled storage bins.

It's like those bits that you trip over every day for a year or two until the day you want them. That's when for some reason they disappear. I hate it when that happens. You then go and buy another one only to find the old one when it arrives. Maybe we should have a big box with " Only for items you intend losing" mind knowing me ,I would lose the big box.

Bit the bullet after looking for them for a month, and bought a new set.
So I expect the old ones will turn up today.
