Hello All,

Newbie here. I am an ex-pat Brit living in the US and have recently entered the E-type world with a 1970 Series 2 OTS. I also have a 1962 Triumph TR4, but that will be going up for sale soon.

Back in the day I went through my share of TRs and Lotuses (Loti?) as daily drivers before life got in the way. I got into the hobby in 2006 with the TR4 which was a barn find and has been great fun to bring it back to life.

Late last year the opportunity of an E-type came up, so how could I resist. A Series 1 would be very nice, but I know that I will be happy with this car at least until I win the lottery. It is just finishing up floor and outer sill replacements and I hope to have it back on the road in the Spring.

Welcome Ian, I hope you enjoy working on and driving your car are as much fun as they should be! You will find a lot of useful information here and remember, the dumbest question is the one not asked!

Hi Ian,
a warm welcome from me too. Nothing to add but to reiterate that you have a lot of good natured and extremely knowledgeable folks on this forum (believe this from a two-left-hander as myself).

cheers and all the best !

I have been remiss in not posting pics now that the car is back on the road.

Here is a shot of the E-type next to our just sold and soon to depart TR4.

Last Sunday we were one of 35 E-types that got together outside of Philadelphia for a local 50th celebration.

There were almost as many E-types behind us in this line up to start our drive.

Our drive took us through Valley Forge park where lots of jaws were dropping as we drove by.

Number plate not required on front of e.

Does this improve the looks?

I live in Pennsylvania and only a rear plate is required on cars; old or new.
