#1 Cooling fan relay questions
Wiring loom installed, almost, down to the details.
1. Picture shows the cooling fan relay, right?
2. How is it to be attached? I can't see any attachment points near for the two holes. I'm sure bracket C28134 will do the trick, but everywhere I see it, it's named for 4.2 only, so how was the relay attached on our 3.8s?
3. Wires are numbered 1, 2, 3 etc, not visible on my relay, where can I find schematic of the 5 legs?

The original poster if after the location of the relay...not the wireing details....had a quick look in the 3.8 factory fit section and found this....Steve

You may want to read OP thoroughly.

Thanks, great answers on wiring. Not understood positioning yet. I use the original wiring, which is in remarkable condition, and the relay has to be placed on the left side, 15-25 cm in front of starter relay. I just donøt see anything to attach it to. And remember the reason for most of my questions, I didn't take it apart, I bought it in boxes. The next E-Type will be easier

If the relay is to be able to reach the wiring ( ), it has to be attached somewhere in the yellow area. Would hate to drill unnecessary holes...
Is there not a reasonable original LHD 3.8 out there to look at? I have a handful of helping people with E-Types here in Denmark, but all 4.2 or V12

On the LHD the relay remains in the same position/location as in above pics: on the right side under the header tank.

Is it possible, Maikel, that you have the horn relay which is mounted on the inside of the left hand mudguard, just ahead of the starter solenoid?

Could be horn relay if horn relay is still placed there if car is early enought to have horns placed beside headlights in bonnet?

Yes, mine is a (very) late '62 FHC and has the horns in the bonnet and the relay on the mudguard. No Quarter wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 2:10 pmCould be horn relay if horn relay is still placed there if car is early enought to have horns placed beside headlights in bonnet?
