#1 Brake fluid
Hi , just noticed the brake fluid level has dropped a bit , so checked in the footwell and there is a slight leak where the brake pedal rod enters the MC . SNGB have a MC repair kit for around £ 15 . Will this do the trick ? I`m slightly disappointed as I`m sure it had a new brake MC fitted 3-4 yrs ago . Thanks .

Mark, a brief search for “master” then search those results for “brake” and then for “leak” will give you previous experiences of similar problems and what has been suggested or done to sort out the problem. You’ll find some comments about checking the bore first to see if there are problems.
Hopefully that will help you decide the best way to progress.
Edited to add, there are suggestions these are a very good alternative the the m/c from the usuals.

Its the old problem poor quality parts plus all rubber parts seem fail. Ive been told that one of the ingredients in rubber nowadays has been removed as it is cancerous

Where is your clutch fluid reservoir bottle? On my car, and I believe many others, the bottle is against the bulkhead on the drivers side.
I had fluid leaking onto the mat near the brake pedal, and it was a split in the bottle. Where the clamp goes round the bottle, it can split but not be obvious. Worth a look?

Hi Malcom , no it`s the brake fluid res. that is going down and I can see the small leak around the brake pedal . That MC on E-Bay looks good value at £ 50 vs. the SNGB at over £ 300 . Only snag is , the E-Bay one has no reaction valve . Can the system work without the RV ?

Hi Mark...you need the cylinder with the reaction valve
....you need to assess you cylinder..if the bore is ok then just fit replacement seals...Steve
