Oil Filter Cartridge
#1 Oil Filter Cartridge
Hello Guys.
I'm fitting the oil cartridge, and what I can't work out is the order of parts and whether I'm missing some.
The Manual doesn't show and the Exploded view on the SNG site is not very clear.
I have,
Bolt, flat washer, rubber seal, Large round formed cannister plate, cannister, spring, felt washer, dished cup then filter.
If this is the correct sequence, what seals the Cannister to Formed cannister plate and should there be a washer over the felt washer.
Or does the felt washer go between plate and cannister.
I know it's a very simple question, but not seeing one before, makes for disaster.
When I got the car, the assembly was fitted together with silicon gasket.
Regards John

OK, I'll ask this question a different way,
Does any sealer or gasket go between the Large dished Plate and the cannister on the oil filter Assy, If not what stops the oil leaking between the two.
Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.
Cheers John

Thank You for the PM Simon.
Just a question, what seals, or what do you use to seal the Cannister Plate washer to the Cannister on the Oil Filter Cannister.
Cheers John

Hello Guys,
Can anyone help me in buying a filter cartridge? A few days ago, I just went to buy it. There are a lot of companies providing the same thing but at different prices, I was confused. Kindly help me with this.

If you stick to a brand name you'll get a reliable minimum quality. Otherwise it's probably just horses for courses.

Mine the rubber seal is between the canister plate and the canister. No washer under the bolt head. The washer is between the spring and the felt.

Hello: old canister style works, but a pain. At some point, might want to consider a spin on adapter. Cleaner, easy to replace. I've used it for over 20 years. Several folks offering the kit. Happy New Year !
