The photos have been corrupted during the Forum move somehow, I think because you put them as attachments. Suggest you edit each post to remove the "(attachment=2]After Rear2.jpg[/attachment)" text and use the new Postimage host ( 'P' at the bottom of the edit page) to reinsert them. The attachments function is really only there to add pdf or Word files to posts rather than photos.

James
When you did your course at Colchester did David Gardiner lecture on it.
I was a surveyor for many years before starting property developing.
Regards
Brian.

HI,
I was at Colchester for 2 years full time around 1990. Scotty was the head of the course then.
Yes Dave Gardiner was there. He was my body work tutor.
He is about the best in the business. He should be a jeweller.
When I was a student then we were into pre-war hot rods. we had A2 flying jackets and slicked back hair and were into "nose art"
All Dave's work was top quality. The first job I I saw him do was to straighten a Series 1 e type bonnet that was lampooned by a fork lift on the docks.
He now sells bodywork videos and does quite well I think.
I do plenty of property developing, Unfortunately for other people!

James,
Dave Gardiner has done 2 projects for me both SS100s very good work. He mentioned the course at Colchester. Looks like the course gave you a good grounding for vehicle restoration.

Thanks Brian.
Lots of cars pass through my hands, they always have done, although the E type is the one I will keep.
Modern classics are so much fun, the golden age of motoring is definitely now. Recent "restorations" include Audi A2, Mazda MX5, LR Defender, Citroen CX gtI turbo, Mercedes 500SL. All bought for hundreds of pounds and all in pretty good nick. Not really restorations I suppose.
This W111 Mercedes coupe came from Beverly Hills and is a stunner. Just sorting some minor details at the moment. No rust again, just like the E type.
I should make some videos of my escapades!
Thinking of the SS100, my friend bought this one a couple of months ago and I would like to find out more about it.
It is based on a 1953 XK120 and has an alloy body.
The condition is like new and the bodywork looks hand made to an excellent standard. It came from ACA.
I am no expert on them but I do wonder if Dave had a hand in it somewhere as it is his side of the country and the quality of the job is second to none. Made for midgets though, that needs sorting.!
